He attended Duke University Summer Goalkeeper Camp while in high school. Earned a scholarship to Anderson Jr College, Anderson, South Carolina, as a goalkeeper, where he played representing the college.
After a spell at Anderson Tim transferred to University of Florida, where they did not have a men’s soccer club, but he still played recreation soccer while at the University of Florida.
Tim states that there was no true goalkeeper training when he was growing up, so he was mainly self-taught and as a result has a unique style that has made him a very popular goalkeeper coach in his area.
Like Ray Newland and fellow J4K coaches, Tim believes that goalkeepers need quality consistent training at the goalkeeping position. He wants to take his knowledge of playing the goalkeeper position and pass that knowledge to young goalkeepers to achieve their highest potential as goalkeepers.
Tim has been coaching the Competitive Select team’s goalkeepers at St Cloud Soccer Club, in St Cloud, Florida, for the past 2 years and holds both the NSCAA Level 1 & 2 diplomas.
Tim’s goal in coaching goalkeepers is to give back to the youth the proper training at the goalkeeper position that he never had.
