I was born in Brentwood, Tennessee and started playing soccer at the age of 12. I started out on the right wing, but one fateful day I was on the post for a corner kick, ball came in, keeper was nowhere to be found and I stepped up and blocked the ball with the lower half of my body. The crowd went wild, teammates praised it, and I thought, this would be a lot easier if I could use my hands. From then on I was a keeper. I had some specialized training from Eric Vaughnter, the former keeper coach for Lipscomb University. However, the majority of my skills came from the many sessions on the trampoline with my Mom and Dad. The trampoline allowed me to learn to make the big saves properly without wear on my body while also improving my reactions close in with the inconsistent surface. Moving forward I played travel soccer in Nashville from ages 14-17, Brentwood Soccer Club and Harpeth Futbol Club, while also playing for my school Franklin Road Academy. I went to Austin Peay State University, and began volunteering as a keeper trainer for a local high school called Kenwood High School. Working there I worked my way from volunteer, to assistant coach, to head coach over the boys and girls programs producing award winning keepers every year there. From Kenwood I moved back to Nashville in 2014 and began coaching at Greenbrier High School as the assistant/ keeper coach. Working there the women’s keeper all district every year along with an insane penalty kick save ratio 5 for 6 her freshman year alone. The men’s side produced a keeper who won keeper of the county even with missing half the season. To their credit, both kids had fantastic attitudes and never put a head down in tough times. In Fall 2015 I was offered a job at my Alma Mater Franklin Road Academy coaching middle school and high school boys as an assistant. I have remained there ever since, winning a middle school Championship and finishing in the State Semi final for the high school. Although lacking in playing experience, I have found an innate ability to get kids and teenagers not only the skill to play between the sticks, but the confidence to be a leader as well on and off the field.
