Coach Scott

Scott is a student of the game, which is shown in his many certificates and licenses from the English FA, Fiorentina Coaching Course, Holland University Coaching Course as well as local USSF and NFHS National Licenses. His playing career most recently brought him back to school where he captained the first Coast Conference Championship in Las Positas College history as well as winning Coaches Awards and Most Inspirational Player. Coaching, however, is what he has found most rewarding, teaching players not just about soccer but how the lessons learned in training and games translates off the pitch and in their day to day lives.

“Soccer to me is truly the world’s game and provides an environment where anyone if they are willing to focus and work hard, can learn, progress and have fun. I enjoy helping players progress and preparing them for the next stage of their development. Also, I am able to relate well to soccer parents because I have been in their shoes as the father of two soccer players. I understand a parent’s perspective and always try and use that experience to be my rudder.”

“Scott was my son’s coach for two seasons. I found him to be one of the most dedicated coaches we’ve had. Scott is easy to communicate with and is always fair and positive. My son always looked forward to practices and games, and had a clear understanding of what Coach Scott expected of him. Scott does not just want to get the job done; he cares about each player and wants each player to succeed. My son loved being part of coach Scott’s team.” – Susan Kovacs
