Paul started his professional soccer career at Nottingham Forest FC. He made his full soccer debut at the age of 17 and went onto to play for numerous soccer clubs throughout his 22-year professional career. During this time, Paul amassed 540 first team appearances and gained 2 promotions. One of the promotions was with Norwich City FC into the Premiership. Paul played for Aston Villa FC when they were in the premiership and won several player of the year awards during his time in soccer
Paul retired from full time soccer when he was 38 years old and moved into coaching.
Paul’s 11 year coaching career to date has given him chance to coach Full International Goalkeepers, such as:
Robert Green, Chelsea FC: Full England International
Fraser Forster, Southampton FC: Full England International
Angus Gunn, Southampton FC: U21 England International
David Marshall, Hull City: Full Scottish International
Paul has gained his UEFA ‘A’ License in goalkeeper coaching.
He has worked for some of the most prestigious managers and had a spell as assistant manager with Jose Riga at Blackpool FC in the Championship League in England.
Paul has studied on the English FA Advanced Youth Award and holds a Generic Tutor qualification.
