J4k goalkeeper programme launched in Uganda
Goalkeeping remains a crucial department during a football game.
Naturally, goalkeepers provide the leadership for the rest of the players on the field of play, they also make keep stops before the ball sails to the net.
A special goalkeeping programme “Just 4 Keepers” has been born in Uganda.
The programme is meant to further provide that plat form to identify raw talents, improve upon the skills of several existing goalkeepers as well as assist with cheap goalkeeping gear to the goalkeepers.
The launch of “Just 4 Keepers” took place on 6th December 2017 at Villa Park Nsambya in Kampala.
Danish born former goalkeeper Frank Petersen, the ambassador of Just 4 Keepers Africa witnessed the momentous event also graced by the Just 4Keepers -Uganda Ambassador and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mathias Kigonya.
A number of goalkeepers (of all age catergories) added the launch.
Onduparaka goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato, Samson Kirya (SC Villa Jogoo), James Alitho (Vipers), Samuel Kivumbi (SC Villa Jogoo), Hannington Ssebwalunyo (BUL) are some of the outspoken names who attended the launch.
Among the programs to be embedded in the Just 4 Keepers -Uganda package include, opening up goalkeeping academies in Uganda, exchange programs of Ugandan keepers and their counterparts in Europe as a whole.
Other aims include providing quality goalkeeping equipment to Ugandan goalkeepers at relatively cheap prices, helping clubs with modern equipment and skills among others.
